The garden soirée, hosted at the Montauk home of guest editors Robin Standefer and Stephen Alesch, brought the likes of Julianne Moore, Martha Stewart, David Zwirner, Jenna Lyons, Cass Bird, and more together to toast CULTURED's second Hamptons issue of the summer.

The Occasion: The release of CULTURED‘s second Hamptons issue of the summer, replete with tales of the East End’s art, design, and style from some of its most beloved residents, including Isaac Mizrahi, Liev Schreiber, David Salle, Storm Ascher, and Charlie Marder.

The Locale: The lush, sun-dappled Montauk garden of Robin Standefer and Stephen Alesch, founders of architecture and design studio Roman & Williams and guest editors of the July/August Hamptons issue, which features sketches Alesch has made of the orchard, labyrinth garden, and other botanical follies found on the grounds.

The Crowd: Standefer, Alesch, and CULTURED Editor-in-Chief Sarah Harrelson gathered a veritable who’s who of East End regulars including CULT100 issue cover star Julianne Moore, Cynthia Rowley, Jenna Lyons, photographer Cass Bird (who shot Standefer and Alesch for the cover), David and Monica Zwirner, Michael Werner Gallery co-founder Gordon VeneKlasen, hotelier Sean Macpherson, Lingua Franca designer Rachelle Hruska Macpherson, Galerie Sardine co-founders Valentina Akerman and Joe Bradley, Sotheby’s CEO Charles Stewart, Reed and Delphine Krakoff, Ulla Johnson, model Sailor Brinkley-Cook, Taylor Schreiber, oh… and Martha Stewart, of course.

Food and Drink: Drinks came courtesy of Casa Dragones, recognized for its long-standing dedication to the arts, whose small batch tequila was served in a signature cocktail bringing notes of chamomile and sherry. The potluck spread by chef Chris Kronner was a late summer cornucopia: fresh-picked strawberries, heirloom tomatoes, tangy sourdough, nutty wheels of cheese, sweet peppers, and lobster and shrimp grilled over an open fire.

What You Missed: Standefer and Alesch had the pleasure of slicing into their summer cover, as a cake was brought around decorated with the beachy Cass Bird shot—enjoyed alongside the photographer herself. How many image-makers can say the same?
