
On Tuesday, Gucci, CULTURED, and Anna Freedman assembled the art world to celebrate the Anderson Ranch Summer Series, curated by Editor-in-Chief Sarah Harrelson for the second year in a row. At the House’s Aspen boutique, a toast was raised to artist Kelly Akashi and MoMA PS1 Chief Curator and Director of Curatorial Affairs Ruba Katrib, who will kick off the next round of conversations tomorrow.
The Scene: The Gucci boutique was transformed into an intimate salon for the night’s festivities. Between walls lined with bags and garments, clusters of guests gathered to discuss the impending art week, pull their favorite items off of hangers, and take in a violin performance.
The Locale: Regional arts leaders, artists, patrons, and friends of the Italian maison gathered in the wood-toned, airy boutique, teeming with a seasonal assortment of of dresses, floral scarves, and leather handbags.
The Crowd: Attendees clinking glasses and mingling through the night included Domenico and Eleanore De Sole, Aspen Art Museum Chief Curator Daniel Merritt and Curator Simone Krug, MoMA Board President Sarah Arison, patron Nancy Magoon, collectors Jamie Tisch, Claire Gogel, Charlie and Rachel Gildor, Melony Lewis, Savannah Friedkin, Darlene and Jorge Perez, Alison Rose, Sotheby’s Aspen Director Christine Heller, and Salt+Snow Co-founder Sara Zilkha.
Food and Drink: Silver trays laden with ikura-topped tartlets and chocolate truffles clothed in gold leaf circulated all night, while celebratory pours of bubbles floated through the crowd.
The Occasion: Guests buzzed about the Summer Series throughout the event while perusing an enviable Gucci assortment. A sampling of the upcoming conversation roster includes photographers Catherine Opie and Dawoud Bey, as well as musician and painter Issy Wood, who will be joined by CULTURED Co-Chief Art Critic Johanna Fateman.
