One of Miami Art Week's most recognizable collectors has touched down in the coastal city, and CULTURED helped welcome its new cover star with a fête befitting of the tennis prodigy and V Starr founder.

Last night, the seven-time Grand Slam champion joined Editor-in-Chief Sarah Harrelson in welcoming friends and fellow art lovers to Contessa Miami to celebrate the start of Art Basel Miami Beach and her Artists on Artists issue cover. Nestled in the heart of the city’s Design District, the night, hosted in partnership with Eighth Day, brought together athletes, actors, and artists to dine and toast while flipping through the pages of the magazine’s latest issue.

"Off the court, I’ve always been drawn to artistic things," Williams told artist Titus Kaphar in their conversation for the magazine. "I love to design and build worlds. That’s my happy place," she added, speaking of her multidisciplinary design studio V Starr. Around the table at dinner, one could spot the likes of artist Mickalene Thomas, MoMA Board President Sarah Arison, comedian Delaney Rowe, Tinx, the Miami Heat's Josh Richardson, model Victoria Brito, tennis player Ayan Broomfield, and curators Isolde Brielmaier and Michi Jigarjian reading through the pair's tête-à-tête.

After dinner was served and drinks finally ran dry, guests left with a copy of the issue and gift bag in hand, containing The Regenerative Serum and The Rejuvenating Moisturizing Primer SPF 30 from Eighth Day, a skincare line founded by dermatologic surgeon Dr. Antony Nakhla. Even on their way out, attendees could be heard discussing their must-sees on the fair circuit, gearing up for what will be a jam-packed rest of the week. Although, after dining with Williams, what could possibly compare?
