Football Star Victor Cruz Teams Up With Sotheby’s To Celebrate Black Art

Former New York Giant Victor Cruz joined forces with art giant Sotheby’s for a soirée highlighting the storied history of Black art and culture on June 17. A Sant Ambroeus-catered reception was followed by an intimate dinner, where guests dined alongside an enthralling curation of works by Mark Bradford, Barkley Hendricks, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Lorna Simpson, Ed Clark, Derrick Adams and Kehinde Wiley. Cruz and his co-host, Sotheby’s CEO Charles Stewart, were accompanied by actress Cynthia Erivo, director and CEO of the Newark Museum of Art Linda C. Harrison, Brooklyn Museum director Anne Pasternak, playwright Lynn Nottage, designer Sheila Bridges and more at the Sotheby’s Upper East Side location.
