In honor of our Summer Music Issue and fourth annual Young Curators story, we asked our seven curators, plus one more highlighted elsewhere in the issue, to select some summertime-friendly tunes—songs they grew up with, songs that get them going, songs they love for no particular reason at all. Spanning time and place, their choices are true treasures: synth-driven soundscapes, ragas, the late, great Nipsey Hussle, Faye Wong's cover of The Cranberries' "Dreams" (in Mandarin), dreamy Kelsey Lu, and lots to get you moving.

Below is our curated Spotify playlist with gems picked by Diya Vij (Associate Curator of Public Programs, High Line), Larry Ossei-Mensah (Susanne Feld Hilberry Senior Curator, Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit), Xiaoyu Weng (The Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation Associate Curator of Chinese Art, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum), Jessica Bell Brown (independent curator), Shanay Jhaveri (Assistant Curator of South Asian Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art), Diana Nawi (independent curator; currently co-curating Prospect.5 New Orleans with Naima J. Keith), Natalie Bell (Associate Curator, New Museum), and Daniel S. Palmer (Curator, Public Art Fund), who's profiled in his own story this issue. Blast it while you're melting in the summer heat, while you're freezing in the office AC, while you're dancing at a party or in your bedroom, windows open. Play it even when summer's over.
