Anónimo isn’t your typical auction: at this non-profit contemporary art auction, the artists’ names are kept anonymous until their piece has been sold. By keeping sentiments about the art separate from the artist, Anónimo aims to make an inner connection with each purchase. For the sixth edition of their auctions, Anónimo will host their first thematic edition—Oaxacan textiles. The proceeds of this auction will go toward the reconstruction of homes damaged by Mexico’s 2017 earthquakes and salvaging the knowledge and tradition of Oaxacan textiles.
