Under the high summer sun and with the scent of salt in the air, fashion line IRO Paris, CULTURED, and Vêtir founder Kate Davidson Hudson hosted a summer fête at Montauk’s Surf Lodge this weekend, turning a casual afternoon into a study of effortless French cool.
The Scene: Sporting sheer swim coverups and ankle-skimming linen, the East End’s finest gathered in Montauk last Saturday for a celebration of IRO’s new pre-fall offerings. Gauzy textiles, breezy Seedlip non-alcoholic cocktails, and a guest list filled with East End insiders made the celebration a marriage of the Hamptons’ coastal ease and the brand’s signature Parisian edge.
The Locale: Guests descended on the waterfront patio of the Surf Lodge—Montauk’s preferred entertainment destination for concerts and, of course, surfing the rolling waves—and mingled around the waterfront bar and racks of garments.
The Occasion: With the 20th anniversary of IRO arriving this year, the brand fêted both its legacy and looked to the future amidst a flock of Montauk tastemakers including Olivia Duncan, chef Meredith Hayden, model Sailor Brinkley Cook, stylist Jess Habich, designer Andrew Wharton-Bickley, and entrepreneur Jordan Kanegis.
Food and Drink: Sober summer was in full swing with non-alcoholic mocktails from Seedlip, including a grapefruit spritz that layered allspice and cardamon with pops of citrus peel, as well as a virgin dirty martini, which blended an array of herbs like rosemary and spearmint with punchy olive brine and fresh spring peas.
Sip and Shop: Guests perused an enviable first pick of the brand’s latest, featuring racks of crocheted beach bags, strappy printed bikinis, and beach slides. If you weren’t there, don’t despair, select IRO swim sandals and styles from the new pre-fall 2025 collection are now available to shop at the Surf Lodge boutique through Sunday, and the full line is now available online and in stores.
