Henry-Eikenberry-Actor
All clothing and accessories Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello.

After winning Gen Z hearts as a restless and forbidden love interest in Euphoria’s sophomore season and a ne’er-do-well hunk in Zelda Williams’s horror flick Lisa Frankenstein, the 26-year-old is preparing toappear alongside Amy Adams in the seething drama At the Sea.

CULTURED: What was the biggest “pinch me” moment of your career so far?

Henry Eikenberry: Honestly, any time I get to walk onto a set as an actor.

CULTURED: What do the characters you gravitate towards have in common?

Eikenberry: I’m not sure I have enough experience yet to notice a pattern in [the characters I play]. However, no matter their circumstances, I like to think they all have some secret that is burning through them from the inside, never letting them feel totally at ease.

CULTURED: If Hollywood made a movie about your life, what single experience would it center on?

Eikenberry: The time my brother and I spent on the Jersey Shore growing up. I would definitely want to relive that somehow—a Hollywood movie would do.

CULTURED: What is the best advice you’ve ever been given? The worst?

Eikenberry: Best? "Talk less, listen more, but don’t be afraid to ask questions." Worst? "Just find that part of your brain and switch it." An art teacher told me that.

CULTURED: What is your ritual for managing rejection?

Eikenberry: Don’t get too attached. Audition, forget about it, repeat. Sounds simple, but it took a bit to stick.

CULTURED: What’s your on-set pet peeve?

Eikenberry: We all have egos to some degree, but when it gets in the way of treating people like people… Yeah, fuck that.

CULTURED: When was the last time you surprised yourself on set?

Eikenberry: Euphoria was my first job, so I wasn’t too familiar with the filming process. I remember they wanted to film me getting into Cal's Jeep. I went all in and jumped through the window on the first try. I was super stoked—until I realized I had to do it about 10 more times. I was surprised I didn’t concuss myself.

CULTURED: What does success mean to you?

Eikenberry: Getting to do what I love as a job—consistently. Then retiring to a farm, of course.
